KEY POINTS

  • Epic Games' "Fortnite Crew" lets players enjoy perks others won't have
  • Players, however, don't have any control over some of the perks they get every month
  • Canceling a subscription to the service is easy enough for those no longer interested in it

Epic Games’ new subscription service for “Fortnite” players, “Fortnite Crew,” promises to give subscribers perks and rewards for a price. Aside from granting subscribers Game Passes, it also allows users to receive a monthly V-Bucks allocation as well as some new outfits and bling. For those who don’t want to subscribe anymore, however, here’s some help with that.

“Fortnite Crew” subscriptions let users enjoy content they normally won’t get without it. When the service was launched, for example, it gave subscribers access to the Galaxia outfit and style, as well as the Cosmic Llamacorn Pickaxe and the Fractured World Back Bling. These perks aren’t accessible to other players as long as they do not subscribe to the service.

In addition to the cosmetic accessories, “Fortnite Crew” subscriptions also grant subscribers the current season’s Battle Pass, as well as a monthly allocation of 1,000 V-Bucks players can use for whatever they want or need to in the game.

Those who don’t like the new skin being offered might end up just wanting the monthly V-Bucks allocation. For “Fortnite Crew” members who don’t like the new skins and would rather get V-Bucks the usual way, there’s always the option to cancel the subscription. Here’s how, as per FortniteIntel:

  • First, while inside the game, players should navigate to the Item Shop tab
  • Second, players should scroll down to find the Crew Section
  • Third, users should click on Cancellation Info
  • Lastly, users should click on Leave Fortnite Crew

Players who leave and then change their mind in the future can rejoin “Fortnite Crew” by going to the Item Shop and signing up for the service.

A “Fortnite Crew” subscription costs $11.99 a month, but it gives users all of these benefits. Some will find the monthly fee worth the perks, but some might not – that’s easy to understand.

Some players who are subscribed to the service might not find the new outfits, styles and other accessories worth their money. And since there’s no way players can control whatever cosmetics Epic Games’ developers can produce for the service every month, players are gambling on whether they’ll find the new outfits attractive or not.

But gamers may be interested in the new outfits, styles and bling for February. Epic, via the official “Fortnite” Twitter account, revealed that “Vi” will be the outfit and style “Fortnite Crew” subscribers will receive next month.

Here's a look at February's perks:
