Disney studios has had quite the last couple of years with record-breaking box-office hits. Most recently, Disney’s “Frozen 2” has just broken the record for the highest-grossing animated film of all time.

The previous record-holder was none other than the first in the series, “Frozen,” which garnered nearly $1.3 billion. “Frozen 2” currently has just over that amount and is continuing to earn money. With “The Incredibles 2” in the number 3 spot with a total of $1.2 billion in the box office, Disney owns all three of the of top-grossing animated films of all time.

“Frozen 2,” which currently holds a 77% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, is set just a few years after the events of the first film. Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Anna (Kristen Bell) find themselves on another adventure with their friends Olaf (Josh Gad) and Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) after awakening elemental spirits.

The “Frozen 2” cast also includes Evan Rachel Wood, Sterling K. Brown and Alfred Molina, amongst others.

Disney studios has also surpassed a billion dollars with “Avengers: Endgame,” “Captain Marvel,” “Toy Story 4,” and “The Lion King.” With the way things are going for “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” it could also break that threshold as well.

Last year alone, Disney studios had a $10 billion surge in profits, according to Forbes. This was the same year they acquired 20th Century Fox and all their owned licenses, which included two other films amongst the highest-grossing of all time, “Avatar” and “Titanic.” With their own successes and ownership of those films, Disney is the highest-grossing studio of all time.
