Elizabeth has continued to see past Esme's schemes to escape Wyndemere Castle, but on the Thursday, Dec. 29, episode of "General Hospital," Esme will try to tug at Elizabeth's heartstrings to get one step closer to freedom.

In the ABC promo video, Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) asks Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) if she will be able to live with something. "GH" spoilers reveal Esme tries to work Elizabeth.

After Rory (Michael Blake Kruse) was attacked by the hook killer, Elizabeth realized Esme couldn't be the mysterious murderer.

Since then, Elizabeth has been debating whether she and Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) are doing the right thing by continuing to hold Esme captive.

It appears Esme will attempt to guilt Elizabeth into letting her free. Esme will force Elizabeth to reflect on the damage Nikolas' decisions have caused and whether he will stay true to his word to let Esme live after she gives birth.

Will Esme manage to guilt Elizabeth into helping her escape from Nikolas?

Elsewhere in the promo video for the ABC soap opera, Trina (Tabyana Ali) tells Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) there are some things she wants to clear up. "General Hospital" spoilers suggest Spencer and Trina will begin their plan.

Trina and Spencer suspect that Esme is the hook killer. They believe the best way to lure her out of hiding is to play on her jealousy and pretend they are dating.

However, before they begin their plan, Trina will open up to Spencer and address all of the tension between them.

Viewers are aware that Trina has feelings for Spencer, which caused issues in her relationship with Rory. Will Trina finally confess the truth to Spencer?

Other "GH" spoilers tease that Michael (Chad Duell) is determined, Ava (Maura West) reveals what she's after, Laura (Genie Francis) voices her suspicions, and Britt's (Kelly Thiebaud) party kicks off.

"General Hospital" airs on weekdays at 3 p.m. EST on ABC.
