‘Girls’
How will Hannah (Lena Dunham) relate to the surfer she will meet in "Girls" Season 6, episode 1? HBO

“Girls” Season 6 recently cast “Rogue One” actor Riz Ahmed in a role for the premiere episode. According to Entertainment Weekly, Ahmed will play the role of a surfing instructor Hannah (Lena Dunham) meets in the first episode.

While speaking with the publication, executive producer Jenni Konner expressed her excitement over Ahmed’s involvement in the sixth and final season of “Girls.” “Riz is incredible. He’s obviously playing a very different kind of character than ‘The Night Of’ or ‘Rogue One’ – a full-on surfer dude who pontificates about the water! He dips in and out of Hannah’s life in an important way,” she explained.

Other guest stars who will appear in at least one episode of “Girls” Season 6 include Aidy Bryant, Corey Stoll, Matthew Rhys, Chelsea Peretti and Joy Bryant.

Meanwhile, Konner also opened up about the finale episode of “Girls” Season 6. According to her, the storyline for the specific installment has been in the works since 2012. “Everything that came before has been leading us to this point. I’ve always said ‘Girls’ is about them trying to grow up, and this season is no exception. They’re always trying, but this season is – though they don’t know it – the last chance to figure out if they’re really going to stay friends,” she said.

“Girls” also stars Allison Williams as Marnie, Jemima Kirke as Jessa, Zosai Mamet as Shoshana, Adam Driver as Adam, Andrew Rannelis as Elijah, Alex Karpovsky as Ray and more.

In other news, lead star Dunham, who is also the writer, director and executive producer of the series, said that she regrets writing a story about four white girls and not including at least one black main character. While speaking with Nylon, Dunham admitted that the next time she pens something for television or the big screen, it will include a black character.
