Gotham Episode 18 Synopsis
Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) will try to find more answers about his father’s past work in episode 18 of “Gotham” Season 2. Fox

Detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) finally cleared his name on “Gotham” Season 2 after being framed for murder by Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith). With Nygma going off to Arkham, it appeared as though Gordon was about to finally have some peace in his life in the closing minutes of episode 17. However, his ex-fiancé Barbara (Erin Richards) has now turned back up, which could once again turn his life upside down in episode 18, titled “Pinewood.”

According to the synopsis, Barbara will try to “make amends” with Gordon in episode 18. Considering all the two have been through, it could be difficult for Gordon to forgive her. In the episode 18 promo video, Barbara offers to help Gordon with the Wayne case because she “knows how much the case means to him.” It looks like she’ll help him get valuable information, but it might not change what Gordon thinks of her.

Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and Alfred (Sean Pertwee) will get to look through Bruce’s father computer after Lucius Fox (Chris Chalk) fixed it. The two will be looking for a former friend of Thomas Wayne’s from “Project Chimera.” The promo video shows Gordon coming to Alfred and Bruce with information about who put the hit out on Bruce’s parents. The man is known as “The Philosopher” and Bruce will do his best to find him.

Bruce’s search for answers will be interrupted thanks to Hugo Strange (BD Wong), who will release some old villains back into the world. Mr. Freeze (Nathan Darrow) is coming back for more mayhem in episode 18 and the promo video shows Theo Galavan (James Frain) rising from the dead stronger than ever. Will Theo continue his pursuit of Bruce or will he go after Gordon for revenge?

Strange also has a new project to work on with the arrival of Nygma. Expect the head of Arkham to play a role in Nygma’s descent into the Riddler. Strange could also become a target of Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) who has snapped back into his old self after dealing with abuse from his stepfamily. The former “King of Gotham,” could start to look to taking back his throne in the near future.
