Demi Lovato is all set to take the stage for the first time in two years as she gears up for a performance at the Grammys on Sunday. As soon as the news of Lovato’s performance surfaced online, the fans were quite excited to know that the musician will be performing some of her biggest hits to enthrall the spectators. But now, some new details have come out regarding her performance at the star-studded event, indicating that her set will be really emotional and touching.

According to E! News, a source close to the “Skyscraper” hitmaker revealed that she is going to perform a special song at the music industry’s biggest night which will take the viewers back to 2018 when she was struggling to keep up well because of a drug overdose.

The source also confirmed that the song she is going to perform was written just a few days before she went to rehab in 2018. The insider also added that most of the songs in her upcoming album were written before that period.

Demi’s performance at the Grammys will be a big moment for the singer since she wants to share the challenging times she went through in front of the whole world.

“The songs are extremely raw and emotional for her. As painful as it is to be reminded and to relive, she does not want to forget,” the source said.

The news comes a week after it was revealed that the “Tell Me You Love Me” singer will be coming out with a new album later this year. A source revealed to Page Six that her new album will take the world through some of the difficult times she faced during the drug overdose incident in 2018.

Her last album came out in 2017.

In related news, this year’s Grammy nominations were dominated by first-time nominees. Lizzo leads the pack with a whopping eight nods while Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X received six noms each.

Eilish has created history by becoming the youngest nominee ever to garner nominations in all of the Grammys four major categories. She is nominated for six Grammys, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Best New Artist and Best Solo Performance.

Her immensely popular song “Bad Guy” would be competing with Bon Iver’s “Hey, Ma,” Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts,” Khalid’s “Talk,” and Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings” in the Record of the Year category.

The star-studded event will take place on Jan. 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
