When the Green Bay Packers visit the San Francisco 49ers Thursday night, fans might not recognize much of the home team’s roster. San Francisco will be without several key players because they’ve either suffered injuries or have been placed on the COVID-19 list.

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is out with a high ankle sprain and star tight end George Kittle won’t play because of a foot injury. Running backs Tevin Coleman and Raheem Mostert are also hurt.

Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne is the only 49ers player who has tested positive for the coronavirus, ESPN reports, but left tackle Trent Williams and receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel can’t play because they are considered close contacts of Bourne. That means San Francisco will be without its top-four pass catchers.

The 49ers have become 7.5-point underdogs against the Packers, according to betting lines compiled by OddsShark. The point spread was hovering around a field goal at the start of the week. The game's betting total is 48.5.

Despite concerns that the coronavirus might postpone the contest, it’s still set to kick off the Week 9 schedule as originally planned. The game starts at 8:20 p.m. EST at Levi Stadium. Both Fox and NFL Network will broadcast the game on TV, and viewers can watch a live stream at nfl.com.

San Francisco defeated Green Bay twice last season. The 49ers blew out the Packers 37-8 in the regular season. San Francisco earned a trip to the Super Bowl with a 37-20 victory over Green Bay in the 2020 NFC Championship Game.

The Packers are in first place in the NFC North with a 5-2 record. The 49ers are at the bottom of the NFC West standings with a 4-4 record.

Aaron Rodgers is an MVP candidate with 20 touchdown passes, two interceptions, and a 113.0 passer rating. The quarterback gives the Packers a clear edge at the game’s most important position over Nick Mullens, who will replace Garoppolo under center.

The 49ers rank sixth in total defense. The unit might be just good enough to keep San Francisco competitive.

Prediction: Green Bay over San Francisco 24-20
