Kate Walsh is returning to ABC's medical drama "Grey's Anatomy."

Walsh will reprise her role as Dr. Addison Montgomery, a neonatal surgeon, in "Grey's Anatomy" for a multi-episode arc in Season 18. ABC representatives confirmed her return but did not give specifics about her character's storyline, Variety reported.

Walsh made her debut in the show in the Season 1 finale in 2005. She later starred in its spinoff, "Private Practice."

Walsh also confirmed her return in a video uploaded on "Grey's Anatomy's" Instagram account Thursday.

"Well, well, well, would you look who it is," the actress said in the clip. "That's right, my loves, Dr. Addison Montgomery is coming back to Grey-Sloan Memorial hospital, and I'm so excited to be home again, joining Shonda [Rhimes], Ellen [Pompeo] and the rest of the incredible cast."

Walsh, the Shondaland Instagram account, "Grey's Anatomy" star Jake Borelli and fans of the show quickly left comments expressing how excited they were for Addison's return.

"I’ve been waiting a long time for this…" Walsh commented.

"Besties I’m crying from all the joy!!!!!" the Shondaland account wrote.

"Yessss KATE! Welcome back to Grey-Sloan! So excited to reunite," Borelli added.

Walsh's character made a major impression in the first season, with Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) finding out that her boyfriend Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), a.k.a McDreamy, was still married at the time.

Walsh is the latest old-school alum to return to the series following Dempsey and Eric Dane, who both appeared last season. However, the huge difference is that her character is still alive in the show, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Walsh left the show when Rhimes offered her the opportunity to star in its spinoff "Private Practice." She previously admitted that she was nervous about leaving "Grey's" but was excited about the new show.

"I was shocked and excited and mostly just totally blown away. Then I was nervous, like, 'Wait, really? Why me?'" she told TV Guide in 2007. "Mostly I was just thrilled because it totally felt like the right thing. I was so flattered and honored that they would think of my character to take off for greener pastures."

At the time, Walsh also felt that it was the "right" decision to leave "Grey's Anatomy." In fact, she felt that her time on the series was up.

"I felt like my tenure sort of was done at the hospital in terms of — I'd delivered lots of babies, I sort of, you know, tried to save my marriage — it failed. I'd slept with numerous people at the hospital. I was like, 'What else can I do?' other than start like making lunch for everybody," she told Parade in 2016.

Despite her exit, Walsh has always been open to a potential return to the medical drama.

Aside from Walsh, Kate Burton will also return as Meredith's late mother, Dr. Ellis Grey. Peter Gallagher will join the cast members this season as well, EW noted.

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 18 premieres on Sept. 30.
