You may want to grab yourself a cold drink because things are going to heat up when ABC airs episode 6 of “Grey’s Anatomy.” And we’re not just talking about the scorching drama set to occur between Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) in the upcoming Season 12 installment.

According to the synopsis for next week’s episode, titled “The Me Nobody Knows,” the surgeons of Grey Sloan Memorial will welcome a new patient to the hospital -- one with a deep, dark and seriously scandalous secret.

“Grey Sloan Memorial welcomes a patient who’s the topic of conversation after accidentally sending his sex tape to his entire congregation,” the summary reveals, teasing an eye-widening plot. But the patient’s leaked sex tape will just be the tip of the drama-riddled iceberg that is episode 6. Debbie Allen, executive producer of the medical series, dished to Entertainment Weekly that fans can expect “great drama” to unfold between Meredith and Callie.

“The audience is going to be riveted. I think our viewership is going to triple,” Allen spoke of the rating-climbing riff between the girls. During episode 5, Meredith informed Callie, along with her co-workers, that Penny (Samantha Sloyan) was the surgeon who failed to save Derek (Patrick Dempsey) the night he got into a terrible car accident.

“The perfect Penny killed my husband,” Meredith said in a fit of rage after it was revealed Penny would be taking up her residency at Grey Sloan Memorial. However, by the end of Monday night’s installment, Meredith seemed to have come to terms with the idea of Penny working in the same hospital as her -- or so we thought.

In a promo video for episode 6, Bailey (Chandra Wilson) will place Penny into Meredith’s service -- a decision that had “Grey’s Anatomy” fans scratching their heads. (Surely there must be some Bailey-esque lesson behind that bold move, right?) But before the method behind Bailey’s madness is revealed, fans watch as Meredith shreds the timid resident to pieces on her very first day.

“Is there any part of this job that you can handle?” Meredith screams at the resident. And you can bet Meredith’s cruelness won’t sit well with Penny’s girlfriend, who is spotted in the promo video looking quite menacing.

The synopsis for episode 6 adds that “Richard (James Pickens, Jr.) will wrestle with how to progress his relationship with Maggie (Kelly McCreary) when an old friend visits the hospital while April (Sarah Drew) brings in a case of a young boy from the Middle-East.”

“Grey’s Anatomy” airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
