  • Fans suggested the new single might be influenced by country music

Singer Gwen Stefani took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce her new single "Slow Clap" will be released on March 11.

The singer shared a picture of herself in a pink jacket, hiding half her face with a shimmering cowboy hat.

"New music tomorrow. u ready?," she captioned with a cowboy, fire, clapping, and angel emoji. "#slowclap 3/11 9am PT gx."

On Tuesday, she had posted another picture that featured a couple of Easter eggs including basketball, old school boombox, cassette tape, a bicycle, an ice cream cone, and an alarm clock set at 5.44.

The poster for her new single features Stefani covered in a dazzling silver and a white jacket with red lace studded with shiny diamonds.

The pop star first announced the new single on Monday with a video clip of inserting her "Slow Clap" cassette tape into a boombox. She also posted a snapshot of the same video highlighting the cassette tape that had "GWEN STEFANI" written in pink.

Stefani also shared on her Instagram story a couple of fan arts featuring her fiancé Blake Shelton, who seemed equally excited for the latest music track. One of the fan arts featured a young Shelton cradling over a poster of "Slow Clap," while another one showed him getting the latest music on his computer.

The new single comes after the track "Let Me Reintroduce Myself," which the singer dropped in December 2020. Since then fans have been suggesting the single might be a country song as the singer is influenced by Shelton.

Moreover, the teasers had an old-school vibe including the cassette and old stereo system, which also made fans think the new song will be influenced by country music.

The 51-year-old singer is all set to treat her fans to many music tracks, about which she disclosed before the holiday season: "like 19 or 20 songs now, but I still want to go back in and write some more once we get through Christmas," Billboard reported.

Stefani and Shelton had officially exchanged rings in October 2020 and confirmed their engagement on social media.
