It appears most boxing fans and betting odds are predicting that Floyd Mayweather will defeat Conor McGregor during their match on Aug. 26. However, it looks like Tyson Fury has gone against that idea. Despite the odds, the professional boxer likes McGregor’s changes of winning.

The former heavyweight titleholder declared that McGregor, the projected underdog, will beat Mayweather, the odds favorite in the bout. Fury went on to suggest that not only will Mayweather be defeated, but McGregor will also win via knockout.

"I think Conor McGregor will knock him out in the first 35 seconds like he did to Jose Aldo, to be honest," Fury told iFL TV Monday. "It would be good for boxing if McGregor chinned him."

Fury continued: "It would be great for the real people of the world."

Fury, who has an overall boxing record of 25-0, relinquished his three heavyweight titles upon a failed drug test. However, he is scheduled to make his official comeback against Joseph Parker for the World Boxing Organization title.

Fury’s opinion doesn't align with the popular census, or betting odds for that matter. Mayweather is favorited at -550, while McGregor is the underdog at +375 via Bovada. Moreover, most critics don’t believe that McGregor has a chance.

Mayweather may be favorited to win because of his undefeated record of 49 wins and zero losses. He has also never been knocked out and has the prestige: Among most, he may be considered the greatest boxer of his generation.

One thing that may count against Mayweather in the ring could be his age. The 40-year-old is up against a younger McGregor, who is 28. Mayweather, considered to a defensive specialist, has a counterpunching boxing style which may explain why he’s never been knocked out. As such, McGregor, who has never stepped foot in a professional boxing ring, may have trouble landing blows on Mayweather.

Welterweight boxer Chris van Heerden, who previously trained with McGregor, revealed McGregor’s strengths and weaknesses earlier this month while speaking to Forbes. He also and expounded on why he thought Mayweather should not be concerned with losing to the younger Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter. Boxing analyst Max Kellerman had a similar sentiment and said during his ESPN show "First Take" on June 15 that McGregor probably won’t land a hit on Mayweather.

"I’m a great admirer of Conor McGregor’s not only technique but fighting spirit. As Dana White will tell you, you need to make a big event." Kellerman said at the time. "A guy drops out last minute. McGregor, will you move up in weight to fight that guy? Sure. Let’s get it on. You want to do an immediate rematch? Damn right, I do. Love everything about McGregor that way and I love the way he promotes."

He added, "I’m a big McGregor fan and if he had been boxing this whole time, maybe we’d be having a different story. But, you ain’t gonna pick it up in three or six months and hit Floyd. Let me tell you what’s going to happen, Conor McGregor will not land a single punch on Floyd Mayweather. Not one punch."
