Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet shocked their fans on Wednesday by announcing their split.

Momoa, 42, announced on Instagram that the couple was divorcing after five years of marriage and after nearly two decades together.

In their joint statement, the "Aquaman" star and Bonet, 54, didn't get into detail about the reason for the split but said they "felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times" and that they've been "feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring."

Momoa and Bonet also said they decided to share the news "so that as we go about our lives, we may do so with dignity and honesty."

The news shocked fans of the couple, and they immediately took to Twitter to share their thoughts about the split.

"I usually don’t care about celebrity breakups, but Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet were a vibe. And their threesome with Lenny [Kravitz] was always nice to witness. Love is dead, y’all," voice actor and comedian BG tweeted.

"Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet are splitting up. Love is dead," author Molly Knight wrote.

"Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet breaking up was not on my 2022 bingo card! My heart is broken!" another Twitter user wrote.

Some social media users, meanwhile, said they hope that Momoa and Kravitz, who was married to Bonet from 1987 to 1993, would remain friends even after the former's divorce from the "Cosby Show" actress.

"I really loved Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet together...and the Jason Momoa-Lenny Kravitz bromance," one person wrote.

"The marriage may be ending, but the Jason Momoa and Lenny Kravitz bromance will continue to live on," activist Lisa Hendricks tweeted.

Others jokingly hinted that they now have a chance with either Bonet or the "Game of Thrones" actor as they have parted ways.

"Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet both being single again means that I have 2 minuscule chances to marry either of them. The hope 2022 needed," one fan tweeted.

Bonet and Momoa started dating in 2005 after being introduced by mutual friends at a jazz club, according to People. After 12 years together, they wed in October 2017.

In a previous interview with Esquire, the "Justice League" star revealed that Bonet was his "childhood crush."

"I mean, I didn't tell her that. I didn't let her know I was a stalker until after we had the kids," Momoa said.

Bonet and Momoa share two children together: 14-year-old daughter Lola and 13-year-old son Nakoa-Wolf. Bonet is also mother to Zoë Kravitz, whom she shares with her ex-husband Lenny.
