KEY POINTS

  • There will be exciting new storylines in "His Dark Materials" Season 2
  • Lyra's relationship with some of the main characters will evolve
  • She will meet new friends and allies

Lyra Belacqua (Dafne Keen) will embark on a new adventure in “His Dark Materials” Season 2. Some of the main characters will return, but Lyra’s relationship with them has evolved with time, and there will be some exciting storylines to look forward to.

The next season is expected to take Lyra to new worlds. One of the worlds that “dust” allowed Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) to see had a floating castle. According to Screen Rant, the TV series should explore more of this new world and explain what it is.

In a way, the whole plot of the show started because of Lord Asriel’s curiosity about dust and his research. However, his obsession led him to do things that are unacceptable. It remains to be seen how Lyra will react to the actions of her “uncle.”

Lyra has grown after facing so many challenges in the first season. These experiences should help her grow further in “His Dark Materials” Season 2. The first two seasons were filmed back-to-back, so there shouldn’t be too much of a difference in the appearance of the character, but there could be huge changes in Season 3 because the production may not start soon because of the lockdown.

A relatively new character on the show this year will be Will Parry (Amir Wilson). Will was introduced in the first season as a responsible young man, and he is expected to face new challenges while working with Lyra.

Another interesting character on the show is Col. John Parry. The fans already know a little about the character, and now Andrew Scott should bring more details to light while playing the role.

As the producers continue to work on the postproduction of Season 2, executive producer Jane Tranter has confirmed that the writers have started working on the scripts of Season 3. The third season will be based on Philip Pullman’s book “The Amber Spyglass.”

So far, the TV series has got good reviews from both the fans and critics. According to Vulture, the TV series got better with each new episode in the first season.

“His Dark Materials” Season 2 is set to air sometime later this year. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date.
