  • The season finale will feature Pumpkin and Mama June’s court battle over custody of Alana

Things are about to escalate further when “Mama June: Road to Redemption” returns for its Season 6 finale this week, as Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson will finally get involved in the battle for his daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s custody.

In the season-ender teaser clip shared by the official “Mama June” Twitter account, Sugar Bear, 50, became emotional after Josh Efird, 26, brought to him the papers he needed to sign for Alana’s custody.

“We have to sign some papers for us to gain sole custody of Alana,” Josh told Sugar Bear, who then began wiping tears from his eyes.

In a voiceover, Josh’s 22-year-old wife, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, expressed her dismay upon learning that the court would be involving Sugar Bear in her battle against her mom, Mama June Shannon, 42.

In another scene, Pumpkin made it clear that she wanted Mama June to pay for child support once she got full custody of her younger sister. This did not sit well with Mama June, who then told her lawyer that she did not agree to what Pumpkin wanted.

The trailer ended with Pumpkin saying she’s willing to fight Mama June in court for Alana’s child support.

Fans won’t have to wait for the episode to know how the case concluded since the show was filmed months ago, and the verdict was already publicized in June.

A judge in Georgia granted Pumpkin sole physical custody of the former “Toddlers and Tiaras” star and ordered Mama June to pay $800 monthly in child support until Alana turns 18.

Pumpkin was previously awarded temporary guardianship over Honey Boo Boo in August 2019, following Mama June’s arrest on drug possession charges with her then-boyfriend Geno Doak.

Mama June caused a stir when she abandoned her kids to be with Geno in March 2019. But she has since bounced back after a rehab stint, and she’s been trying to win back the favor of her children.

Catch the season finale of “Mama June: Road to Redemption” on Friday at 9 p.m. EDT on We TV.
