Although Prince William and Kate Middleton have been married for more than eight years, they have a complicated love story. After the couple split in April 2007, Kate reportedly wore a risqué outfit that had William begging her for a second chance.

Kate was left devastated by the breakup, and although she wanted to get back together with William, she reportedly made him wait months before she agreed to be his girlfriend again.

In the book, “Kate: The Future Queen,” Katie Nicholl claimed Prince William tried to reconcile with Kate shortly after their break up. “They secretly met up at Clarence House and at a pub close to Highgrove, where William told her he wanted to get back together,” the royal biographer explained.

“Kate didn’t want to rush anything. She had been badly hurt and told William she needed some time,” she added.

However, after William saw Kate wearing a revealing outfit at his army barracks’ “Freakin’ Naughty-themed” party, he was determined to make her reconsider their break up. “[Kate was] dressed as a nurse - a rather sexy one in fishnet tights and a short dress,” Nicholl wrote.

At the time, partygoers claimed Prince William “followed her around like a lost puppy,” and the two “couldn’t keep their hands off each other.” The event allowed the pair to rekindle their romance and give their relationship another chance.

According to insiders, Queen Elizabeth may have also played a part in securing William’s future with Kate. Once the pair was back together, the monarch forced her grandson to make a decision about his relationship.

“Now they are back together, the Queen wants William to do the right thing – either marry the girl or let her go,” a source revealed in a Sunday Express report.

“She would rather they broke up for good now than get married only to have it end in divorce in five years’ time. But if Kate is the one, then a five-year courtship is long enough. Prince Philip has told William he cannot keep stringing along Kate forever.”

Prince William proposed to Kate in 2010, and they married the following year. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are now parents to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
