Kate Middleton’s family showed their opposition to Meghan Markle at one event.

Unlike Markle’s family, the Middletons rarely speak up and are contented to be in the background when Middleton joined the royal family. However, there was a particular incident when Middleton’s family reportedly showed their opposition against the Duchess of Sussex and it happened on Pippa Middleton’s big day.

“Meghan faced some opposition from the Middleton family, who didn’t want to invite her to Pippa’s wedding last May,” The Sun’s royal correspondent Emily Andrews said.

“They feared Meghan’s first public appearance with Prince Harry would overshadow the bride’s big day.”

For the event, Markle skipped the wedding ceremony and only attended the evening reception. Prince Harry made a 50-mile dash to Kensington Palace to fetch Markle in time for the celebration.

“[Harry] left as discreetly as possible and travelled with her all the way back up, showing just how serious he is about her,” one insider said. “He didn't want Meghan having to arrive along, without him alongside her, at the reception.”

In May 2018, Prince Harry and Markle got married. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated their first wedding anniversary last month.

However, there are rumors that their marriage is already on the rocks. Prince Harry was spotted in a bad mood during Trooping the Colour. His ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy reportedly flew to London immediately to check on him.

According to Phil Dampier before Markle, Prince Harry was so in love with Chelsy that he thought she would be his future wife. He added that Prince Harry will always carry a torch for Chelsy.

In related news, Prince Harry reportedly had a fling at the early stage of his relationship with Markle. According to Angela Levin, after meeting the “Suits” actress, Prince Harry still went on dates with Burberry model Sarah Ann Macklin.

The Duke of Sussex bombarded her with texts. But it turned out to be just a fling because they were very different. Macklin is fond of “clean living.” She barely drinks which put them at a different wavelength.
