Following his engagement to Meghan Markle, Prince Harry praised Kate Middleton for welcoming his bride-to-be into the royal family. However, with a little more than a month to go before the couple celebrates their first wedding anniversary, a royal expert claims the Duke of Sussex may be disappointed with the state of Meghan and Kate’s relationship.

When Prince Harry married Meghan, he reportedly hoped his new wife and sister-in-law would become good friends. While there has been speculation about an ongoing feud between the two women, royal author Katie Nicholl suggested “tension” between the couples is to blame for Kate and Meghan’s lack of friendship.

“I had heard that while Harry was very keen for the two of them to become best friends, there was never that sort of a friendship. They quite quickly realized they were two pretty mature women—quite different women—and really the only thing they had in common was they'd married princes,” Nicholl told Glamour.

“Not just Prince Harry, I think probably the world wanted them to become best friends,” she added.

Instead of believing Meghan, Harry, Kate and William are embroiled in a bitter feud, Nicholl suggested their differences are the reason the Royals are not as close as everyone expected.

“I do think there is some truth to there having been some tension—not just between the duchesses but between the dukes. As we all know, things can gather momentum pretty quickly. So while I think there's been tension, I don't believe there has been some feud.

While appearing in the TLC documentary, “Kate v Meghan: Princesses At War,” royal commentator Ingrid Seward suggested Kate and William may have a grudge against Meghan, due to the former “Suits” star’s influence over Harry.

“He was very much a part of their family. Then suddenly he meets Meghan and he falls in love and he’s off. So he’s sort of suddenly out of their lives and there may have been some resentment,” she shared.

Despite feud speculation, Prince William, Kate, Meghan and Prince Harry appear to be in great spirits whenever they attend events together.
