Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are rumored to still be in love with each other. In fact, royal fans have been urging them to get married again.

However, a royal expert previously said that the Duke and Duchess of York can’t tie the knot again for as long as Prince Philip is alive. This is because the Duke of Edinburgh still hasn’t forgiven Ferguson for what she did years ago.

But another royal expert said that Prince Andrew and Fergie could actually tie the knot again if they really want to do so. And their union may take place even if Prince Philip is still alive.

While speaking with Express, Richard Fitzwilliams said, “The Yorks are a close-knit family. Despite divorcing in 1996, Andrew and Sarah still are the best of friends.”

Fitzwilliams went on to say that if the former couple decides that they want to wed again, the Queen wouldn’t even have to give them her consent. And it is also important to note that Prince Philip has no say on the matter because he’s a retired royal.

During a recent interview with Hello! magazine, Ferguson heightened speculations that she and her ex-husband could get married again. She said that she and Prince Andrew are bigger than friends.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s mom also said that she and her ex-husband work in unity, and they are also focused on being good parents together.

And if the couple does end up together again legally, Fitzwilliams said that Ferguson would be more than elated to be welcomed back into the royal fold.

“There is no doubt Sarah is overjoyed that she has been welcomed back by the Queen to Balmoral since 2013 and to the Royal Ascot. Their daughter Eugenie’s recent marriage to Jack Brooksbank was sensationally successful and made for excellent television,” he said.

Prince Andrew and Ferguson tied the knot in 1986 but they divorced 10 years later.
