Prince Andrew reportedly felt indebted towards his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, after their divorce.

Years ago, a source told Vanity Fair why this might have been the case. “The Duke has a record of being loyal to his friends. Take his feelings for Sarah Ferguson… If you are a prince and you bring a woman into the royal life and, for whatever reasons, she is spit out, you might have feelings of debt toward her,” the source said.

According to the source, the Duke of York felt that his wife was pushed out by the Royal Family. And even though he agreed to get a divorce from the mother of his two daughters, Prince Andrew still felt the rejection that Ferguson experienced.

“His close relationship with the Duchess of York is problematic, and there have been many problems over the last five to ten years, all of which stem from the Duchess. Some of the behavior of the Duchess is inconsistent with being married to, or an ex-wife of, the Duke,” the source said.

Following their divorce in 1996, Prince Andrew and Ferguson continued to live together at the Royal Lodge with Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Until today, the two are still residing in the same home.

Several royal fans and experts are convinced that they have gotten back together. However, the two have not yet remarried. When asked if they have plans to tie the knot again, Ferguson gave a cryptic response and said that she and Prince Andrew are bigger than friends.

Unfortunately, even if the ex-couple still love each other, it seems that they can’t tie the knot anytime soon. Prince Philip still hasn’t forgiven Ferguson for her toe-sucking scandal, and Prince Andrew won’t force his father to allow him to marry Ferguson again.

Royal fans believe that Prince Andrew and Ferguson could get married again after Prince Philip passes away.
