Before she was the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle made a name for herself by playing Rachel Zane on “Suits.” Despite her retirement from acting, the USA Network drama is reportedly trying to get her back.

Executives would love Markle to make a cameo, The Mirror reports. Obviously, NBC Universal, which owns USA Network, would benefit from the ratings spike that would likely come with Markle’s appearance.

While she had a net worth estimated to be between $5 million and $7 million before marrying Prince Harry last year, Markle wouldn’t be paid for this potential cameo. There would apparently be a lot of tax issues if they paid her directly. Instead, NBC Universal is offering to make a charitable donation to Markle's preferred nonprofit — and they’re willing to pay the big bucks.

“I’ve heard sums ranging from two to six million being kicked around, and that sounds a lot – but it would be one of the biggest marketing coups in TV history,” an anonymous source claimed.

That is a big donation for a quick gig. It would supposedly only take half a day to film and result in about two minutes of screen time for the Duchess of Sussex. They’re even offering to film the scene in the U.K.

The outlet also reports that Markle paid her SAG-AFTRA fees several years in advance, so she is still a member of the actor’s union.

“Suits” viewers watched Markle’s Rachel marry longtime love Mike (Patrick J. Adams) last spring before both characters were written off the show. The idea for a cameo would also require Adams to come back. The show would reportedly give audiences a glimpse of Rachel and Mike’s new life together, and Rachel would be pregnant, just like Markle.

International Business Times reached out to NBC Universal, but the company had no comment on the rumors.

Markle announced her retirement from acting when she and Prince Harry announced their engagement in November 2017. Her final episode of “Suits” aired on April 25, 2018 and ended with Rachel and Mike getting married just weeks before the former actress’ real-life wedding.
