Amazon Prime has been making their mark in terms of streaming for quite some time. This month, several new releases will be made available, including comedian Jim Gaffigan's seventh standup special titled "Quality Time" and movies such as "A Simple Favor," starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick. Another new offering that may interest users of the service is "Pete the Cat," coming Aug. 9.

The Amazon Prime original will make its Season 1, Part 2 debut this month and is based on the New York Times bestselling children's book series. As of now, over 60 books have been written for the series and more are released each year to the delight of audiences.

The story follows the main character, Pete the Cat, as the cartoon animal explores different topics, such as saving Christmas and loving his white shoes.

The cast includes Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Pete the Cat, Elvis Costello as Pete's dad, and Diana Krall as Pete's mom.
