It’s still too early to get plot details on “Jurassic World 2” since the movie is currently being filmed. However, Chris Pratt, who plays Owen Grady in the rebooted “Jurassic Park” franchise, provided some information on the sequel.

While promoting “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” Screenrant asked Pratt about “Jurassic World 2.” The 37-year-old actor responded by first praising director J.A. Bayona. “He’s a remarkable filmmaker. If you haven’t seen ‘The Impossible’ or ‘A Monster Calls,’ I mean he’s really visually masterful.”

Then, Pratt teased about the “Jurassic World” sequel, “Deep emotions and suspense. I think it’s going to be a scarier version. A little bit darker and will continue to expand and carry the story forward in a way that is really unexpected and you wouldn’t have imagined.”

While that’s not a lot to go on, it goes describe the rumored plot of the movie. Speculation suggests that “Jurassic World 2” will explore the idea of using weaponized dinosaurs. These reptiles will be controlled by the government.

In fact, Colin Trevorrow, who is a producer of the sequel, had previously teased that the plot is based on something Dr. Henry Wu (B.D. Wong) said in “Jurassic World.” He said, “We’re not always going to be the only ones who can make a dinosaur.” The geneticist stole dinosaur embryos from the island in a helicopter. It is suggested that Dr. Wu makes an alliance with someone who wants to use these creatures as weapons.

Trevorrow also confirmed this rumor by sharing a photo of a few dinosaur eggs recently on Twitter.

Apart from Pratt, “Jurassic World 2” also stars Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire, Daniella Pineda, Ted Levine, Justice Smith, James Cromwell and Geraldine Chaplin.

Based on Howard’s Twitter account, it seems that the movie is currently being filmed in New Zealand. It releases in theaters on June 22, 2018.
