  • Huawei MatePad 10.4 to be cheaper than Huawei MatePad Pro 5G

The Huawei MatePad 10.4 is finally coming out and it will happen this coming Thursday. The newest member of the Huawei MatePad family was finally made official following weeks of speculation and listing appearances.

Huawei made the official announcement via their Weibo account, a tablet worth checking out for folks who are looking for a cost-efficient and new device to use. Teasers of the upcoming tablet appeared on several sites the past weeks compete with images and specs. The most notable feature of the Huawei MatePad 10.4 is that this is a device backed by a Kirin 810 chipset.

The Huawei MatePad 10.4 will sport a 10.4-inch (1200x1200 pixels) FHD+ display with slim bezels. It will have an 8 MP front-facing camera and another similar 8 MP main shooter at the back with LED flash. Making media entertainment more enjoyable with the tablet are Harman Kardon quad speakers for better audio rendering.

Other specs under the hood include a choice between a 4 or 6 GB RAM as well as 64 or 128 GB of internal storage. The Huawei MatePad 10.4 comes with provisions for expansion through a microSD card. The tablet will come with a 7,250 mAh battery and will be available in WiFi or LTE versions. The device also supports Huawei's M-pen stylus although this will have to be bought separately, GSM Arena reported.

But it appears that the Huawei MatePad 10.4 won't be the only one introduced this Thursday. Also debuting on April 23 is the Huawei Nova 7 series. There will be three new phones that will be unveiled, namely the nova 7, nova 7 SE and nova 7 Pro. Features for the said phones remain limited for now although there is the word that they will also run on Kirin chipsets. The nova 7 will bank on a Kirin 985, the nova 7 SE on a Kirin 820 and the nova 7 Pro relying on a Kirin 990 SoC with 5G.

Pricing remains a mystery for all devices. But as far as the Huawei MatePad 10.4 is concerned, it is likely to be priced lower than the Huawei MatePad Pro 5G. The actual suggested retail price should be known on Thursday.
