KEY POINTS

  • Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee's sex tape got stolen from their home in 1995
  • "Pam & Tommy" will focus on their story after their sex tape got leaked
  • Lily James and Sebastian Stan will play Pamela and Tommy in the series

Hulu has released the first official trailer for “Pam & Tommy,” giving viewers serious flashbacks of when Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s infamous sex tape went viral. The sneak peek also features Lily James and Sebastian Stan’s mind-blowing transformations as the former power couple.

The 55-second trailer opens with Pam and Tommy’s sex tape, which was made on their honeymoon in 1995, getting into the hands of other people after an electrician had stolen it from their home. The sex tape then got leaked and became one of the most infamous sex tapes in history.

One point in the trailer shows Tommy, played by Stan, rolling up in a car and showing off his tattoos and piercings. Another moment also shows Pam, played by James, running in her iconic “Baywatch” swimsuit while shooting for the series. The trailer also shows their worried reactions upon realizing that their sex tape had been stolen and could potentially be leaked.

“Every second that passes, this tape could be spreading,” Pam tells Tommy, to which he replies with, “Baby, we will get it back.”

After scenes of James and Stan passionately kissing at a nightclub, Seth Rogen and Nick Offerman, who play the men who come to possess the sex tape, find themselves watching a video screen dumbfounded as the sounds of people having sex are heard in the background.

“It’s so…private,” Offerman says in a voiceover. “It’s like we’re seeing something we’re not supposed to be seeing. Which is kind of what makes it so hot.”

“Pam & Tommy” is reportedly a “comedic take” on the leakage of Anderson and Lee’s sex tape. In an earlier interview, Anderson herself said she’s not happy about the show and thinks it’s “a joke and cheap knock-off.” For his part, Lee told ET Online at the MTV Video Music Awards in September that “Pam & Tommy” was “cool.”

“I know Sebastian, he’s playing me,” he told the outlet. “From what he’s told me, it’s a really beautiful story. I think a lot of people would think it’s one thing, but it’s really about privacy and how things got crazy then,” he added.
