Tiwa Savage has no plans to give in to her blackmailer, who is allegedly threatening to leak some intimate footage she filmed with her current boyfriend.

The award-winning Nigerian singer-songwriter, 41, appeared Friday on the radio station Power 105.1 in New York, where she made it clear that she won't be paying her blackmailer for doing something "natural."

"I am not going to call it a sex tape, but it's a tape between me and the person I am dating right now," the Afrobeats star told host Angie Martinez, as per CNN. "I'm not going to have somebody blackmail [me] for doing something that is natural."

According to the singer, the unnamed blackmailer obtained the footage after her boyfriend accidentally shared it on Snapchat. He quickly deleted it after realizing his mistake, but not before a third party was able to get a copy of it.

Savage revealed that she cried when she was told about the video leak Thursday by her road manager, who was sent the footage.

The singer said she decided to go public about the blackmail so she could control the narrative, telling Martinez, "I'm that crazy I could put it out myself ... You're not making any money off of this."

The artist believes that the sex tape blackmail is one of the disadvantages of fame, saying, "There is a dark side to being in the limelight."

She also explained why she refuses to give in to the demands of her blackmailer.

"I pay it now, and two months down the line, you’re going to come back again, and then in two years," she added, as quoted by New York Post. "And who knows? Even if I do send you the money, you’ll probably release it anyway."

According to Savage, her partner was "going crazy" about the leak. She was also worried that it would affect her career negatively and concerned about the potential damaging effect it could have on her 6-year-old son when he is older.

"I don't want this to overshadow what I have going on," she said.

The Nigerian superstar appeared on "The X Factor" in the U.K. in 2006. She served as a backup singer for a number of artists, including Mary J. Blige and George Michael, before making a name as a solo artist. She also won the MTV Europe Music Award for best African act in 2018.

Her hits include "Kele Kele" and "Eminado." She is currently promoting her latest album, "Water and Garri."
