A 44-year-old man from Oklee, Minnesota, allegedly stabbed his wife multiple times and left her to bleed to death nearly a month ago because he was jealous, court documents showed.

Eric Reinbold is wanted for the murder of his wife, Lissette, a report by local newspaper Grand Forks Herald said.

The woman was found by her children lying in the driveway of her home in rural Pennington County on the morning of July 9 with stab wounds in her neck, Fox 9 reported, citing a warrant filed Friday.

A medical examiner determined Lissette had died from bleeding out after she was stabbed multiple times in her neck, torso and extremities, according to the outlet.

Reinbold appeared to have left sometime prior to the discovery of Lissette's body and left behind his phone, police said.

Deputies obtained the phone via a warrant and discovered messages that showed Reinbold had become increasingly upset over his deteriorating relationship with his wife, according to the Fox 9 report. He had been living in a camper down the road from Lissette's home at the time of the incident.

One of the couple's children told investigators they thought Reinbold was upset because he believed Lissette was seeing another man, according to the criminal complaint.

A manhunt for Reinbold led by the U.S. Marshals Service started in Pennington and Red Lake counties. Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for his capture or any information that can lead to his arrest.

Reinbold— who had been convicted in 2018 for building pipe bombs — could be armed and dangerous, Pennington County Sheriff Ray Kuznia said.

A similar incident occurred in Manhattan, New York, in June when a 63-year-old man was accused of nearly beating his wife to death because he thought she was cheating on him.

Julio Aponte was arrested and charged with second-degree attempted murder and assault after he repeatedly bashed his unnamed 49-year-old wife in the head in the Washington Heights neighborhood on June 14.

Aponte told authorities he attacked his wife because she was allegedly cheating on him.

The wife had suffered severe head trauma that caused her to go into cardiac arrest.
