This week on “I Am Cait,” Caitlyn Jenner is already halfway through her 8-part documentary series and she still has so much to learn about being transgender. In this episode, she faces the wrath of her family members after they get offended by her Vanity Fair interview.

The episode starts with Caitlyn waking up in a panic. She is worried about how the paparazzi will share her story. Unfortunately, she learns that even when she uses her own words, things can easily be taken out of context.

She reveals that her stepdaughter Khloe Kardashian as well as some other members of her family are upset about her Vanity Fair interview. The now infamous issue featured her on the cover and, revealed her as Caitlyn for the first time.

Her other stepdaughter, Kim Kardashian, comes over to talk about the family’s issues. She tells Caitlyn that they feel that the article was very negative about their mom, Kris Jenner, who is Caitlyn’s ex-wife.

Kim tells Caitlyn that she should have been careful with her words and that she should not bash the Kardashian family on her way to finding success in her new life. She noted a particular line in which Caitlyn said: “Had Kris been more accepting, we still would be together.”

Caitlyn insists that she was honest and fair in the interview, but Kim points out that she said a lot very hurtful things and her sister Khloe would naturally be defensive of their mom.

Kim explains that the way Caitlyn said that Kris treated her badly was unfair and hurtful. She also pointed out that Kendall and Kylie did not take well to being called distractions. Caitlyn takes it all in and tells Kim that she hopes the other family members can come and visit her so that she can have the opportunity to apologize.

Eventually, she took the time to head out to Khloe’s house. The two of them finally speak about their issues. Khloe explains her side and tells Caitlyn about how hurtful her words were, especially about Kris and the younger kids. She feels that Caitlyn dragged her mom through the mud.

In the end, Khloe relents and says that she doesn’t want to fight anymore. She thinks that Caitlyn’s feelings are one-sided at the moment but there isn’t much she could do except to make sure that their lines of communication remain open.

Caitlyn agrees and they discuss how they can all be more open to each other. Khloe teaches Caitlyn how to group text and they promise to try to communicate better.

Elsewhere during the episode, Caitlyn has her first sleepover with her friend, Candis Cayne. It is still vague if the two of them have something going on beyond friendship but they have certainly become very close.

With the help of their friends Jen Richards and Kate Bornstein, Caitlyn learns even more about the transgender community and the struggles that their families are facing. They also visit the GLAAD center where they meet Chaz Bono and other transgender youth and their families.

Overall, Caitlyn sees that despite the progress she is making, there really is just so much more to learn. Despite her active work towards helping others, she sees that dealing with her own family is one of the biggest hurdles that she needs to face.
