A new report showing the Intel Core i7-11700K Rocket Lake 8 core desktop CPU benchmarks was recently shared online, highlighting the remarkably better performance it delivered than the flagship Intel Core i9-10900K Comet Lake CPU.

The gaming benchmark of IntelCore i7-11700K was shared on Twitter by CapFrameX and reported by Videocardz. The Intel desktop processor's impressive performance was conducted on the new BIOS on a Z590 motherboard platform. The test includes the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card with a 32 GB of GDDR4 memory for each.

The benchmarks show three titles tested using the Intel Core i7-11700K. These are "Cyberpunk 2077," "Crysis remastered," and"Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order." Compared to the performance of the Intel Core i9-10900K, the Core i7-11700K shows a 6% performance improvement in "Crysis remastered." It scored a 2% performance difference against the current-generation flagship CPU when tested using "Cyberpunk 2077."

Meanwhile, the Intel Core i7-11700K CPU boasted a 10% faster performance than its older sibling when tested on "Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order." Overall, the upcoming desktop processor gains over 6% performance compared to the previous generation flagship desktop CPU from Intel. The benchmarks also show that the Rocket lake processor maxes out at 5.0 GHz while the Comet Lake CPU could boost up to 5.3 GHz and deliver a bigger performance increase than the Core i7 model.

This is because the Intel Core i9-10900K features a "higher number of core or threads than the Core i7-11700K." Additionally, "it operates at a higher boost frequency of up to 5.3 GHz," Wccftech noted. Earlier, Intel announced the official release date of the Core i7-11700K, Core i9-11900K and other desktop CPUs under the 11th generation Rocket Lake desktop processors series.

The products would be officially launched on March 16 and rolled out in authorized retail stores starting March 30. The Intel Core i7-11700K is based on Cyprus Cove microarchitecture with 8 cores 16 threads and 125W TDP. As for its price, rumors suggest that it might sell at around $570.

It is worth noting that Intel only confirmed the launch and release dates of the Core i7-11700K. The company has not yet revealed its MSRP.
