A couple of days after revealing his favorite books of the year, the former President of the U.S., Barack Obama, has come out with a list of movies and shows that he loved in 2019.

While sharing a personal update on his official Twitter handle, the 58-year-old politician listed a total of 18 movies that he completely adored in this year. The films included the likes of Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman,” Noah Baumbach’s “Marriage Story,” Greta Gerwig’s “Little Women” and the first movie distributed by Barack and Michelle's production company, “American Factory.”

“American Factory” takes place in the post-industrial Ohio where a Chinese Billionaire buys an old General Motors plant that was shut down in the year 2008. The movie tells the world how the wealthy entrepreneur created employment opportunites and gave almost 2,000 jobs to blue-collared Americans at a time when the relations between the U.S and China were not that good.

The movie was well-received by the critics as well as the audiences and currently has a score of 97 percent on review site Rotten Tomatoes. The film was also recently included in the movies shortlisted in the Best Documentary category at the upcoming Academy Awards.

Meanwhile, some of the other Oscars frontrunners like “The Farewell” and “Ford v Ferrari” also made the cut in Obama’s favorite films of 2019.

Scorsese’s epic crime drama has already been considered one of the best movies of the year by many critics. The movie was named Best Picture by the National Board of Review (NBR) and is up for 14 Critics’ Choice Awards. On the other hand, South Korean black comedy “Parasite” was also in the group of movies liked by the former President.

Directed by Bong Joon-Ho, the movie has already won more than 40 international awards till now.

Other notable movies on Obama’s list include “Booksmart,” “Just Mercy,” “The Last Black Man In San Francisco” and fellow documentaries like “Apollo 11” and “Amazing Grace.”

On the Television side, the list was rather short and only included three titles. “Fleabag,” “Unbelievable” and HBO’s “Watchmen” were the TV shows that Obama liked in 2019.

ON Saturday, the American attorney shared some of his favorite books of the year that made an impact on his mind. Sally Rooney’s “Normal People,” “Trust Exercise” by Susan Choi and “The Anarchy: The Relentless Rise Of The East India Company” are some of the books that were included in the group.
