Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas shared his input on the debate on who is the best player that hailed from his city. A Chicago native, the former NBA star made his argument on choosing the player – and he is not talking about himself.

In an interview by TMZ Sports, the former Detroit Pistons guard believes that the best player from his city is Dwyane Wade. The recently-retired star also played with the Bulls for one season before switching to his third team.

"No one has won more and been as successful as Dwyane Wade,” the 6-foot-1 Thomas said. “We all honor him, we love him, right now, he’s the winner”. A 13-time all-star, Wade has put up impressive credentials as an NBA star for the Miami Heat.

“All of us from Chicago, we're all winners. We're all champions,” added Thomas. Not taking him out of the equation, Thomas, one of the 50 greatest players in NBA History bared that he doesn’t mind sharing the distinction with Wade. “But, Dwyane Wade has a very special place in all our hearts," followed Thomas.

Spending his entire career with the Pistons, Thomas ended his career with averages of 19.2 points, 9.3 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game in 13 seasons. He’s also won back-to-back titles in 1989 and 1990, sweeping the Los Angeles Lakers and a 4-1 series win over the Portland Trail Blazers, respectively.

The 37-year old Wade has been one of the most decorated stars in the NBA. His resume includes three-time NBA champion with the Miami Heat, three-time All-NBA Defensive Second Team, two-time All-NBA First Team, an NBA All-Star MVP in 2010, and an NBA Finals MVP in his first world championship.

In his 16-year career, “The Flash” holds averages of 22 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Drafted fifth overall in 2003, Wade’s jersey was retired by Marquette University during the halftime of the Golden Eagles’ game against the Providence Friars in 2007.
