Rihanna, Jay-Z, and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey are turning out to be some of the biggest contributors in helping the people who are gravely affected by the coronavirus pandemic. After donating a huge amount of money in the last few weeks, the trio has joined hands to help the communities who have been left out and are facing problems to gain access to essential items.

Taking it to Twitter, Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation announced that it is teaming up with Jay-Z’s Shawn Carter Foundation and Dorsey in giving a sum of $6.2 million to various charities that will help some of the marginalized communities in places like New York, New Orleans, and Puerto Rico. The money will be given to 11 organizations. Seven out of them are in the U.S.

In the U.S., the grants will be given to organizations like Give Directly, Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, Covenant House New Orleans, World Central Kitchen, Second Harvest Food Bank Of Greater New Orleans And Acadiana, Total Community Action, and The Hispanic Federation.

Outside the U.S., the money will be distributed to companies like Doctors Without Borders, The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, Direct Relief, and Team Humanity.

Recently, the “Umbrella” hitmaker and Twitter CEO came together to donate $4.2 million to the Los Angeles Mayor’s Fund to help the people who are experiencing domestic violence amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. According to ABC News, the donation will help in providing food and a place to live in for 90 domestic violence victims per week for 10 weeks.

On the other hand, the “Otis” hitmaker recently gave 100,000 face masks to inmates, so that the deadly virus could not spread in prisons. Jay-Z and Meek Mills, who both head of the Reform Alliance, helped in distributing the masks in various locations like Tennessee, Rikers Island, and Parchman.

They announced later that their co-founding partners also donated more than 2.6 million masks, 2,000 ventilators, and 170,000 goggles for the people working in New York.

New York is the worst-hit state in the U.S., with more than 210,000 cases and 11, 586 deaths. Meanwhile, worldwide cases of COVID-19 are now more than 2 million.
