Jada Pinkett Smith, who has never shied away from discussing her sex life, talked about the challenges of maintaining a good sex life during a special episode of her show “Red Table Talk” with guest Gwyneth Paltrow.

Jada also discussed the importance of communicating sexual desires with your partner. "It's hard," Jada said Wednesday. "The thing Will and I talk about a lot is the journey. We started in this at a very young age, you know, 22 years old. That's why the accountability part really hit for me because I think you expect your partner to know [what you need], especially when it comes to sex. It's like, 'Well, if you love me, you should know. If you love me, you should read my mind.' That's a huge pitfall."

Paltrow, who is currently promoting her Netflix series “Sex, Love & Goop,” commented, "Isn't it weird, though? It's like someone doesn't read your mind and we feel crushed."

"Crushed!" Jada replied, and went on to add, "You tell me what you need. Tell me what you want, and on top of it, I know that I have to be accountable to do the same...I really try."

"It's uncomfortable, but it's deeply healthy, and I think around sex, because it's something that we don't talk about a lot, and there's so much fantasy around it..."

Though Jada was quite open about the pitfalls one faces with regard to sex in a long-term relationship, she made sure the world knew the discussion had nothing to do with her sex life with husband Will Smith.

She took to Twitter to clear the air, and wrote: “Only because I got time today. Stop making up headlines. Watch the @RedTableTalk I did with @GwynethPaltrow for yourselves. Will and I have NEVER had an issue in the bedroom. Thank you.”

Back in September, Will spoke about his open marriage to Jada in an interview with GQ where he explained the duo has "given each other trust and freedom" because for them, the relationship "can’t be a prison."

In July 2020, even Jada opened up about her involvement with singer August Alsina, and later invited Will onto “Red Table Talk” to clear the air about the whole situation.
