  • Murray ensures that the Nuggets will rally back and complete the 3-1 comeback

The Denver Nuggets have forced a game seven in their first-round matchup against the Utah Jazz. Star guard Jamal Murray ensures that the Nuggets have what it takes to come back from a 3-1 deficit.

"They believe in me, I believe in them and we're trying to be this 12th team to come back from down 3-1," Murray said by way of ESPN.

It was another impressive performance for Murray as he led Denver to a 119-107 game six victory against the Jazz. This is the second time in this postseason that Murray has hit the 50-point mark. This is a historical feat for the young guard as he joins Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, Allen Iverson and Donovan Mitchell as the only players to score more than 50 points twice in a series. It’s interesting to note that Mitchell also accomplished this milestone in the same series.

"As a fan perspective I see it and I respect it, but I can't tell you as a player that I want to play Game 7 if we're up 3-1," Mitchell said.

The All-Star guard Mitchell once again had another strong outing as he tallied 44 points, six rebounds and five assists in the loss.

"I don't think anybody wants to do that but we're here, so play the hand that you're dealt and we're going to go out there and execute and do what we've got to do," Mitchell continued.

The Nuggets will only be the 12th team in NBA history to rally back from a 3-1 deficit if they manage to take win game seven. The last time this happened was during the 2016 finals where LeBron James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to win the NBA finals.

The momentum is on Denver’s side and they’re playing with everything they have left in their tank. Big man All-Star Nikola Jokic emphasizes how their team’s mindset is to exert the effort needed to win.

"To be honest, it's Game 7 for the last two games for us. It's win or go home for us," Jokic said.

The Serbian star tallied 22 points, four rebounds, nine assists and three steals in their recent victory.

"That's why we're playing a little bit relaxed. We have nothing to worry about. If we lose we're going to home. That's why the energy is really high. We just need to give the effort. Don't give up on the plays. Rebound. Just help each other. That's why we're playing really good right now," Jokic added.
