Jazz Jennings’s boyfriend Ahmir Steward has once again opened up about his personal struggles with anxiety after breaking his silence on the real status of his relationship with the “I Am Jazz” star.

On Thursday, Ahmir took to Instagram to share a candid photo of him covering his face with his hands. In the caption, he revealed that he’s been making an effort to feel comfortable in front of the camera and be himself on TV.

“This ‘picture’ wasn’t planned. It shows me dealing with my anxiety and battling the thoughts in my head, the thoughts that tell me everything that’s wrong with me and how I’ll never be anything other than what TV has made me out to be. Pessimistic. Narcissistic,” he wrote.

The Philadelphia native added that he’s well aware of the rumors and the criticisms that surfaced ever since he appeared on “I Am Jazz” Season 5. According to him, the root cause of his problem is “believing that [he] might just be what I saw on TV.”

Ahmir’s cryptic post comes days after he finally broke his silence and addressed the ongoing breakup rumors. He recently told Radar Online that he and Jazz are still “in communication” and that he’s pretty sure “we’ll see each other again.”

Ahmir admitted that they haven’t made plans for future visits so far. He noted that he spoke with Jazz the other day and she told him that she’s always there for him amid his mental health struggles.

In Touch Weekly’s Chelsea Duff reported that based on Ahmir’s statements, he and Jazz are taking a break from their romance and is keeping their status vague. But this is not something new, knowing that the two of them agreed to have a “no commitment” relationship in the penultimate episode of the TLC series.

Apparently, Jazz felt like she needed more time and space to grow and explore the world with other people after completing her bottom surgery. Ahmir agreed with the LGBTQ advocate since he is Jazz’s first boyfriend after all.

“I Am Jazz” has been renewed for another season. Jazz is now preparing for college. She got accepted into Harvard and Pomona and she can’t decide which school to choose. From the looks of things, TLC could be setting up for the big reveal when the next installment airs. Meanwhile, it’s not clear if Ahmir is returning for Season 6.
