Jazz Jennings’ boyfriend Ahmir Steward knows how to play the cards right. He is aware that many are intrigued by his relationship with the “I Am Jazz” star, so he used this to put a powerful message against the abortion ban laws across.

Just recently, Ahmir updated his Instagram with a photo of him and Jazz posing for their camera during their New York date months ago. He captioned the post “Elphaba and Glinda” as though hinting at their friendship despite the split.

Interestingly, Ahmir didn’t just make the social media post to catch attention from fans of the TLC reality series. He also made it an instrument for his call against the abortion ban laws that are currently making headlines in the country.

“This post is about abortion too lol. I for one, am livid. It baffles me that ‘pro-lifers’ won’t put a ban on guns, yet they will put a ban on abortion,” Ahmir wrote alongside a text showing the statistics of gun violence-related deaths and injuries documented each year.

Jazz and Ahmir dated for months and their relationship was even featured on the trans teen’s reality show. But before the series wrapped up its fifth season, the two decided to have a “no commitment” relationship.

Late last month, Ahmir vaguely confirmed their breakup when he spoke with Radar Online and told the celebrity news outlet that they are still “in communication” and that he’s certain that they’ll “see each other again.”

Ahmir is currently battling anxiety and depression and he said that Jazz, who lives in Florida, made it clear that she’s always there for him. However, the Philadelphia native admitted that they have yet to make plans for future visits.

Meanwhile, Jazz recently revealed that she’s finally chosen Harvard over Pomona College after receiving acceptance letters from both schools. In an Instagram post, Jazz proudly shared a picture of her donning a Harvard sweatshirt.

“I am so stoked for this next chapter of my life! Feeling so blessed and grateful right now. Thank you so much to my incredible family for your unconditional love and support; none of this would be possible without all of you. I can’t wait for what’s to come,” she captioned her post.

Fans are likely to see Jazz’s time in the prestigious school since her show has been renewed for a sixth season following the very successful installment that featured her bottom surgery and romance with Ahmir.
