Jennifer Aniston recently recalled what it was like growing up in a destabilized and unsafe household.

During a recent interview for Interview Magazine, Sandra Bullock asked Aniston how she prevents herself from feeling discouraged when things don’t always go the right way. Aniston said that her motivation comes from the kind of environment that she grew up in.

“I think that it comes from growing up in a household that was destabilized and felt unsafe, watching adults being unkind to each other and witnessing certain things about human behavior that made think: ‘I don’t want to do that. I don’t want to be that…” she said.

Despite her strained relationship with her parents, who divorced when Aniston was just 9 years old, the actress said that she has them to thank.

Two years ago, Aniston also talked about her relationship with her late mother during an interview with Elle magazine. The “Friends” star admitted that her mom became an emotionally draining figure in her life after she got divorced from Aniston’s dad.

For years, Aniston lost touch with her mom but she eventually came to the realization that her late mother was simply trying her best.

“My mom said those things because she really loved me. It wasn’t her trying to be a [expletive] or knowing she would be making some deep wounds that I would then spend a lot of money to undo. She did it because that was what she grew up with,” Aniston said.

Brad Pitt’s ex-wife also admitted that she’s a happy person even though she has experienced some hardships in life. Aniston said that she feels happy to have a great job, a great family, and great friends so there’s no reason for her to feel otherwise.

In fact, even after she and Pitt divorced, “The Morning Show” star maintained a happy disposition. After Pitt was accused of cheating on her, Aniston still didn’t put all of the blame on her ex-husband. She told Vanity Fair that Pitt isn't mean-spirited, and he wouldn't intentionally hurt her.
