Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt may no longer be together, but a difference in opinion about having kids did not cause their break up.

In a new interview published by Allure on Wednesday, "The Morning Show" star, 53, rejected the narrative that she was more focused on her fame than expanding her family with Pitt, 58, during their relationship.

"I just cared about my career. And God forbid a woman is successful and doesn't have a child. And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn't give him a kid," Aniston said while reflecting on past rumors.

"It was absolute lies. I don't have anything to hide at this point."

Aniston, who was married to Pitt from 2000 to 2005, revealed there was a period where she tried to get pregnant and privately underwent IVF treatment.

"All the years and years and years of speculation... It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it," she explained.

"I would've given anything if someone had said to me, 'Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.' You just don't think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed."

Although it was a difficult time in her life, Aniston feels ready to share her past and end false narratives about her life.

"I've spent so many years protecting my story about IVF. I'm so protective of these parts because I feel like there's so little that I get to keep to myself," she said.

"The [world] creates narratives that aren't true, so I might as well tell the truth. I feel like I'm coming out of hibernation. I don't have anything to hide."

Following her divorce from Pitt, Aniston moved on with Justin Theroux. After marrying "The Mosquito Coast" star in 2015, the couple separated two years later.

Meanwhile, Pitt moved on with Angelina Jolie, with who he shares kids Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 14. Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, but the two remain in an ongoing divorce and custody battle.
