Jenny Slate made a mistake and invited a complete stranger to her wedding.

Slate is tying the knot with Ben Shattuck. They are supposed to exchange "I dos" in June but decided to push it back due to the pandemic. They have since moved their wedding to September.

In an interview with "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," the "Gifted" star shared how she ended up inviting a complete stranger to her big day.

"We just wanted to send out an email invitation rather than one that has 50 pieces of paper and confetti and stuff and you just probably throw away," Slate shared.

"So we sent out an email, and there was one of my friends, who's like a good friend of mine, and I was just like, 'Oh, it's just this name @gmail,' put her on the list and then ... didn't hear back from my friend."

Slate added that she asked that particular friend if they were coming and the latter said they thought it would be a small wedding and they weren't invited. The "Obvious Child" star told her close pal to check her spam but later realized it was her who made the typo in the email address. She "messed up" the email by one letter resulting in her friend not receiving the invite, which landed in someone else's inbox.

"Not only was it like, 'Jenny and Ben, June 2020! Save the date!' — it was like a picture of me and Ben being like, 'We are Jenny Slate and Ben Shattuck and we live here, this is our home address!'" Slate added.

"I'm not trying to assume that this lady is a fan or knows who I am but if she does, she knows where I live, and that we were gonna get married at our house and blah blah blah."

When Slate alerted her guests about the change in her wedding date, she didn't send the wrong email address the update because she felt "awkward" about it.

"I don't even know who she is. Although, except, I do, because then I was like 'Who is this lady that I invited?' and when I looked her up on the internet, she likes to wear top hats like a lot — like often she'll wear a top hat in some of her pictures," Slate added.

Prior to meeting Shattuck, Slate dated Chris Evans. According to her, she never thought she was his type. Meanwhile, the “Captain America” star considered Slate his “favorite human.”

“She’s my favorite human,” Evans said of his ex-girlfriend. “She’s so vulnerable, so honest, so interested in other people more than herself, she’s incredibly compassionate, there’s just nothing to not love about her.”
