A pawnshop owner in Keyport, New Jersey, was arrested Saturday as part of the growing investigation into the Jersey City shooting last week that left six dead.

Ahmed A-Hady, 35, operator of the Buy N Sell City pawn shop, was arrested in connection with the case and charged with being a felon in possession of firearms after authorities found weapons and 400 rounds of ammunition at his store and home. Keyport is roughly 33 miles southwest of Jersey City.

While the exact relationship between A-Hady and the shooters, David Anderson and Francine Graham, has not been established, his phone number and address were found on a handwritten note in Anderson's rear pants pocket. Police seized three AR-15 assault rifles, three handguns, and a shotgun from A-Hady, matching the types of weapons brought to the scene of the shooting by Anderson and Graham.

Those close to A-Hady said that they were caught off guard by his arrest in relation to the shooting. Adhem A-Hady, his brother, told a CBS affiliate station that he had never heard of Anderson and Graham before the shooting.

“Never heard of them, never seen anything regarding these two people,” Adhem A-Hady said. “We don’t sell weapons. We never sold weapons. The only thing that we have in the store is, like, nunchucks.”

Pritesh Patel, an employee at a store across from A-Hady’s pawn shop, said he never noticed anything strange happening at the store.

A-Hady purchased some of the firearms in 2007, according to records. He was later convicted of attempted drug fraud, making it illegal for him to possess a firearm as a felon.

Elsewhere, in Orange, New Jersey, roughly 10 miles northeast of Jersey City, police seized a white van while pursuing evidence pertaining to the shooting. It is not known how this van relates to the incident. Anderson and Graham used a different type of vehicle, a U-Haul truck, to drive to the kosher supermarket where they opened fire.
