  • Former host Chris Harrison made about $2.6 million per season of "The Bachelor"
  • Jesse Palmer could potentially make millions per year as well if ABC hires him full-time
  • Palmer became a "Bachelor" lead in 2005

Jesse Palmer, a former NFL quarterback-turned-ESPN analyst, is stepping in as host for “The Bachelor” Season 26 — and curious minds can’t help but wonder how much he is getting paid for the stint.

The financial details of Palmer’s contract with “The Bachelor” were not made public, but according to Cosmopolitan, educated guesses could be made based on the salary of former host Chris Harrison.

By the time he exited Bachelor Nation in June 2021, Harrison was reportedly making about $8 million per year hosting “The Bachelor,” “The Bachelorette” and “Bachelor in Paradise.” This means he was paid an estimated $2.6 million per season.

But it is worth noting that Harrison hosted “The Bachelor” for 25 seasons, and he likely negotiated his contract and received an increase in pay a few times throughout his two-decade hosting gig.

It is likely that Palmer is not making nearly as much as Harrison did per season, according to the outlet.

He could be getting less than a million for his rookie season, the report said, but it was also noted that if ABC decides to make his appointment permanent, he will potentially make millions per year.

For now, Palmer officially signed on for Season 26 of “The Bachelor." His first episode aired Monday.

There have been talks of Palmer continuing with the franchise in the future, both on the flagship “Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” Variety reported, citing unnamed insiders. But the outlet said nothing is set in stone as the network has not yet renewed either series beyond their next upcoming seasons.

Palmer, who according to Celebrity Net Worth has a net worth of $8 million, played college football for the University of Florida before joining the NFL as a quarterback for the New York Giants and the San Francisco 49ers.

Palmer has held a spot as a football analyst and commentator with ESPN since 2007.

He also has a career as a TV host. He leads the Food Network’s “Holiday Baking Championship” and has juggled a number of tasks for ABC, including hosting “The Ultimate Surfer.”

Palmer himself became a “Bachelor” lead in 2005. He ultimately did not end up with the woman he chose and instead married Emely Fardo in 2020.

3. Jesse Palmer – The Bachelor
Palmer was mostly forgettable as an NFL quarterback. He was drafted in the fourth round out of Florida by the Giants. He played in eight games, throwing for three touchdowns, four interceptions and 562 yards before he ended his pro career. In the 2004 offseason, he made history as the first non-American bachelor (Palmer is Canadian). He is also remembered for forgetting a contestant’s name during the first rose ceremony. REUTERS
