Jessie J revealed that she suffered a pregnancy loss in an emotional post on social media.

On Wednesday, the 33-year-old British singer took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news, alongside a photo of her holding a positive pregnancy test and a quote from Seyda Noir that read: "Sometimes love won't be enough to make it work, and that's OK. It doesn't mean that you've failed."

In the caption, Jessie wrote, "Yesterday morning I was laughing with a friend saying 'seriously though how am I going to get through my gig in LA tomorrow night without telling the whole audience I am pregnant.'"

However, later in the day, the singer was "dreading the thought of getting through the gig without breaking down…"

The "Price Tag" hitmaker explained that she was told that "there was no longer a heartbeat" when she went in for her third scan.

Following the loss, Jessie, whose real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish, said she felt like she has "no control of my emotions."

However, the England native said she still planned to go through with her performance, "not because I'm avoiding the grief or the process, but because I know singing tonight will help me."

After only doing two shows in the past couple of years, Jessie said her soul "needs" to sing for her fans. She said she understands that people might disagree with her wanting to perform, but she explained that singing has always been a source of "self-love therapy."

"I want to be honest and true and not hide what I'm feeling. I deserve that. I want to be as myself as I can be in this moment. Not just for the audience but for myself and my little baby that did its best," she shared. "I know myself and I know I would talk about it on stage because that's who I am. So instead of a tearful emotional speech trying to explain my energy. This feels safer."

According to the musician, she decided to have a baby on her own as it's "all I've ever wanted and life is short."

Jessie added that getting pregnant was a "miracle," as well as an experience she hopes to have again someday.

"I'm still in shock, the sadness is overwhelming. But I know I am strong, and I know I will be OK," the "Bang Bang" singer continued. "I also know millions of women all over the world have felt this pain and way worse. I feel connected to those of you I know and those of you I don't."

Although the singer said she is going through the "loneliest feeling in the world," she wrote that she will still show up at the concert for her fans. At the end of the emotional post, she wrote, "I may crack less jokes but my heart will be in the room," and added a heart emoji.

Jessie performed at The Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles Wednesday night, People reported.

The performer previously spoke about her fertility struggles. She shared during a November 2018 concert that she was "told four years ago that I can't ever have children."

Jessie had been diagnosed with adenomyosis, which occurs when the endometrial tissue grows into the muscular uterine wall, according to the Mayo Clinic.

"The pain I’ve been through with this disease is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to face," she told U.K.'s The Times in June 2019. "I get severe pain, which I have to manage, and psychologically, well, having children was always a big thing for me. I may be infertile, which, not gonna lie, would be devastating."

At the time, Jessie said that she would also consider adoption or surrogacy if she is unable to get pregnant.
