Jhene Aiko has been working on new music with rumored boyfriend Big Sean. Aside from their musical pursuits, however, many people are also interested in their supposed romantic relationship.

In an interview with The Breakfast Club, Aiko did not explicitly say that she and Sean are already an item, but she did refute rumors claiming that she cheated on her estranged husband Dot Da Genius with the rapper.

Aiko said she has never been with someone who was also committed to someone else. “I've never dated someone that was cheating, and I was cheating,” the “Maniac” singer said. “That's never happened.”

The singer also said that cheating can be avoided if the couple has mutual respect for each other and continues to communicate openly. Aiko reiterated that cheating was not the reason why she and her husband parted ways.

The singer's comments come a few weeks after it was revealed that her husband, whose real name is Oladipo Omishore, asked for spousal support and lawyer's fees in the divorce documents he filed. Aiko's ex also asked to be given any of the property they shared, according to BET.

While Aiko cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce, she has not opened up about what triggered the breakup. However, she did hint that the relationship was abusive.

When asked by a fan about the reason behind their breakup, Aiko said: “Never let a man disrespect u in any way. Major key [sic].”

Omishore heard about Aiko's message and took to Instagram to clear his name. A portion of his statement said: “I believe the truth must be heard, which is that I've never been violent or abusive towards any woman in my life. Such behavior is abhorrent to me and far from how I conduct myself.”

Meanwhile, Aiko and Sean started sparking rumors when they collaborated on a record together in early 2016.
