Jhene Aiko and estranged husband Dot Da Genius (real name Oladipo Omishore) cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their divorce, and it looks like they still have a lot of things they don’t agree on even if they’ve already parted ways.

When Aiko filed for divorce from Omishore in June 2016, she asked not to give spousal support to her husband, according to TMZ. Now, Omishore is demanding monetary support from the “New Balance” singer following the divorce filing, according to BET. Omishore also reportedly wants Aiko to pay for all his lawyers’ fees and to claim whatever property he can.

Aiko kept mum about the reason why she split from Omishore at first, but she later hinted that they had an abusive relationship. Answering a fan’s question on Twitter about the reason why they broke up, Aiko simply said: “Never let a man disrespect u in any way. Major key [sic].”

Omishore took to Instagram to share his side of the story, saying he had never been abusive toward the “Remember” singer. “I believe the truth must be heard, which is that I’ve never been violent or abusive towards any woman in my life. Such behavior is abhorrent to me and far from how I conduct myself,” he said.

Aside from the abuse allegations, there were also rumors that the split was caused by Aiko’s closeness to Big Sean. The two collaborated on a record, and they have also been spotted together in public many times. They also share their mutual admiration for each other unabashedly on social media.

Rumors were fueled when the two shared a kiss after a performance. Aiko has also referred to Sean as her “next baby daddy.” Many also believe that Sean is the person Aiko was referring to in her song “New Balance,” which talks about newfound love.
