Washington Wizards guard John Wall was reportedly fined by the team after unloading at head coach Scott Brooks during a recent practice session. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, teammate Jeff Green and Brooks were pushing Wall and the rest of the team to increase their level of intensity during training last week.

However, Wall did not take too kindly to it and said "f--- you" to Brooks. Although he apologized to Brooks immediately afterward, as well as to his teammates the following day, the 28-year-old was still fined.

The issue highlights the disconnect within Washington as they are currently underachieving this season with a 5-11 record so far. They have lost nine of their last 13 games, having most recently suffered a 119-109 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, and are currently in 11th place in the Eastern Conference.

The news also notably comes after Wojnarowski reported earlier Monday that for the first time, the Wizards were open to trade discussions over each of their players, including Wall and fellow all-star Bradley Beal. Washington were previously hesitant to include Wall or Beal in discussions for players like Kawhi Leonard or Jimmy Butler, but given their recent struggles, it has become apparent that "it needs to start considering overtures for them."

Though Wall, the number one pick in the 2010 draft and a five-time all-star, is a favorite of Washington ownership, trading him away would be difficult for financial reasons. He is currently earning $19.1 million this season and a four-year contract extension will kick in next season that will see him earn an average of $42 million.

Beal, on the other hand, is 3 years younger than Wall and has a more manageable contract. The 2018 all-star notably doesn't hit free agency until 2021 either, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him attract trade interest from various teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Wizards host the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday next and will look to snap a two-game losing streak.
