  • Jon Gosselin has been accused of physically assaulting his 16-year-old son Collin
  • An investigation has been launched by the Berks County Children & Youth Services
  • Jon has denied the allegations and said no charges have been filed against him

“Jon & Kate Plus 8” star Jon Gosselin has been accused of physically assaulting his 16-year-old son Collin. The news of the alleged assault came from a report by Berks County (Pa.) Children & Youth Services.

The Child & Youth Services has launched a “child abuse investigation” against Jon, People reported. The government organization has already notified Collin’s mother, Kate Gosselin, about the inquiry. The media outlet also stated that the investigation has been initiated for a violent incident that took place between Jon and Collin earlier this month.

The report indicated that the reality star might have caused “bodily injury to a child through recent act/failure to act: hitting/punching.” However, the report does not name Jon as the culprit, but the accusations are quite similar to the allegations made by Collin last week on Instagram that his father “beat him.” The photo he shared has since been deleted from the platform.

Kate expressed her disappointment over the issue and said people are not allowed to “punch and kick children.” She also stated that she does not want to hear any excuses from anyone in this case.

“You do not punch and kick your children. You do not kick a child. I don’t want to hear any excuses from anyone, not from his father, not from local law enforcement, not from court personnel whose job is supposed to ensure the best interests of my children. There is a child abuse law, PA 23, section 8i states that doing any of the following, regardless of whether it causes injury, is child abuse, and first on that list is kicking. Period,” People quoted Kate, as saying.

Kate also explained that she won’t sit quietly and see her child get assaulted by anyone.

“I do not want this buried, swept under the rug or minimized. As a mother, I am not going to sit quietly and idly by while my child, any of my children, is assaulted by anyone, let alone their own father,” Kate told the media outlet.

The TV personality also noted that she doesn’t want Jon to be around her children.

Meanwhile, Jon has denied all the allegations that have been leveled against him. In a statement obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Jon said that he has never abused Collin. The statement was released by Jon’s representative.

The rep also said that there are no charges filed against Jon and there’s no “ongoing” CYS investigation on the star.

“Jon has never abused Collin. No charges have been filed against him and there’s no ongoing Children & Youth Services investigation. Collin has endured severe trauma. Jon is a loving father who has worked hard to ensure that his son gets the support and help he needs,” ET quoted the rep, as saying.

John Adams, Berks County District Attorney, confirmed that there has been “no charges” filed against Jon because of the incident.

A source told People that the incident took place after Collin was screaming and swearing while sitting with Jon in the car. Later, he got out of the vehicle and threw a bottle of liquid at Jon’s car. The star got furious and punched Collin on his nose and kicked him on his ribs while he was lying on the ground.
