Jonathan Taylor Thomas was photographed for the first time in years out and about with his dogs.

Thomas, who was best known for his roles on "Home Improvement" and in "Wild America," was spotted in Hollywood on June 20. It was the first time he was photographed in public in nearly eight years, Us Weekly reported.

Thomas dressed casually in a navy zip-up sweatshirt, gray New Balance sneakers and a New York Mets baseball cap. He also wore a black face mask and dark sunglasses while walking with his two dogs on leashes. He was checking his phone and smoking a vape at the same time.

He has kept a relatively low profile after he stepped back from acting in 2005, Page Six added. However, he briefly revived his career in 2013 and 2015 by appearing in four episodes of his former "Home Improvement" co-star Tim Allen's show "Last Man Standing."

Thomas began acting at the age of 7 in 1987. He also appeared in many '90s and early 2000 hits. He was known as a dreamboat to many fellow teens. In 1997, he spoke about his influence as an actor and how it affected him.

"You are a part of their life, and there is a lot that is owed them," he told the New York Times in 1997 of his fan base. "But it’s difficult because you want to make everyone happy, but if you try to do that, you’re setting yourself up for failure."

He also admitted that he struggled growing up in the spotlight. That was the reason why he decided to go under the radar after playing Randy Taylor on "Home Improvement" for eight seasons.

"I’d been going nonstop since I was 8 years old. I wanted to go to school, to travel and have a bit of a break,” he once said, according to Us Weekly. "To sit in a big library amongst books and students, that was pretty cool. It was a novel experience for me."

Thomas was very determined to finish his education. He enrolled at Harvard University in 2000 where he spent two years studying philosophy and history. However, he left in 2002. He eventually returned to academia and graduated as Jonathan Weiss from Columbia University's School of General Studies in 2010, Vice reported.

Thomas had always known that he wouldn't be in the movie industry all his life. The "Lion King" voice actor told Premiere in 1994 that his life didn't just revolve in Hollywood.

"You can’t base your life around one thing. So that’s why I focus on school, I play sports, I learn the technical side of [filmmaking]. Because sometime it’ll change, and I’ll have my education to fall back on," he was quoted by Us Weekly as saying.
