Justin Bieber public defended his manager Scooter Braun in the going feud between the latter and Taylor Swift recently. However, sources close to the “Sorry” singer said that he doesn’t want to “escalate” the feud any further.

After Swift publicly shared her anger about Braun buying the company that owns all her music and accused him of “manipulative bullying,” Bieber took to social media to defend his manager and asked Swift to try to resolve the issue. A source close to Bieber told People that the singer “felt the need” to defend his manager after what he has done for him.

Braun has supported Bieber over the years through the singer’s “ups and downs” in his career. He has reportedly also been supportive in the past few months, a time when Bieber has been suffering from anxiety, depression, and mental health issues. This made his defend his manager, who sources say the singer calls a “friend and mentor.”

According to sources, Braun has been “very understanding and encouraging” of Bieber taking a break from his music career to focus on his mental health. “Justin thinks Scooter has a big heart [and] thought Taylor’s bashing of Scooter was unfair,” one insider said.

After his public statement about the feud, sources say that Bieber hopes that the issue dies down. The music industry is a small place where people know each other, and the “Sorry” singer doesn’t want any “hate” to be there in the industry. “He really just wants the whole thing to die down,” a source said.

The feud between Swift and Braun has divided the music industry, with several people taking sides and speaking publicly. Former choreographer Emma Portner, for instance, slammed Bieber on social media for the way he treats women, People reported.

Meanwhile, legal experts who are weighing in on the ongoing feud told People that Swift is doing the right thing by making her grievances public. The publicity campaign may force investors to back out of the Big Machine sale deal or they may convince the company to come to an agreement with the singer.
