KEY POINTS

  • Lance Bass shared a TikTok video that appeared to imply Justin Timberlake doesn't regularly reply to his messages
  • Timberlake explained "babies" were the reason for his "unavailability"
  • Timberlake is a father of two, while Bass will soon welcome twins

Justin Timberlake has a good reason for not having been quick to respond to Lance Bass' text.

The former NSync bandmates treated their fans to a funny exchange on social media Sunday after Bass, 42, posted a TikTok video seemingly calling out Timberlake for not regularly replying to his messages.

The clip, which he shared via Instagram, shows Bass dancing under the caption, "When JT finally responds to my text."

After some fans became worried about possible tension between the two bandmates, Timberlake immediately responded to clear the air and prove there's no bad blood between them.

The "Cry Me a River" crooner commented, "Once those babies show up… your unavailability will all make sense, bro," along with several laughing emojis.

Bass shared the comment to his Instagram Story and replied, "Touché!"

Fans and followers of the two singers found the exchange hilarious and Timberlake's response relatable. Jared Gutstadt and Prep Curry both left face with tears of joy emojis in the comments section of Bass' video.

"He’s right…wait until you have those babies. I had twins and it was amazing but you will be busy!" one fan commented.

"We gonna ALL gonna be like this when he finally decides to do a reunion," another wrote.

Another fan suggested, "JT’s last album was not good. He should embrace the NSYNC nostalgia instead of distancing himself!"

Timberlake and his wife, Jessica Biel, share two kids: 6-year-old Silas and 1-year-old Phineas. They welcomed their youngest child last year.

Meanwhile, Bass tied the knot with Michael Turchin in 2014, and they are set to welcome their first and second child later this year. Their surrogate is set to give birth to twins in October.

Last year, Bass spoke about the possibility of reuniting with Timberlake and the rest of the NSync members for a new project. At the time, he suggested that their reunion would have been perfect to celebrate their 2000 album, "No Strings Attached."

"We’ve been talking about it," Bass told Variety in March 2020. "No plans have been made. If there will even be plans, who knows? … I think if we did anything, it would be for the fun of it — the world needs something fun to listen to and I think we could bring some positivity to it. That’s what we need right now. It could be something simple to test it out, and if it works, it works and if it doesn’t, it doesn’t."

Just like Bass, Joey Fatone is also open to an NSync reunion. "I can’t speak for anybody else, but for me, it would be fun. Why not? I mean, let’s be real here. It wasn’t broke," he told Us Weekly in April.

He continued, "Everybody kind of separated to do their own thing and now we’ve done our own thing and still doing our own thing, but you know what, I think it’d be kind of fun to do something like that and get back together."

The last time all five of them -- Timberlake, Bass, Fatone, JC Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick -- were together publicly was in 2018 for their Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
