When Kate Middleton married Prince William in 2011, she entered into a world of privilege and luxury. However, she knew her role as the Duchess of Cambridge required her to fulfill certain duties expected from members of the royal family.

Unlike Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, Kate was born in the UK and has a certain respect for the country. Sources close to the 37-year-old claim Kate’s values are what makes her different, and more popular than the former “Suits” star.

Insiders told the Mail On Sunday’s YOU Magazine that Kate’s life in the UK has affected the way she carries out her royal duties.

“Kate’s view is that Queen, country and family come first. She is very clear on her priorities and the values that guide how she lives and works,” the source revealed.

The Duchess of Cambridge is aware that her ties to the royal family gives her a large platform and doesn’t take the opportunity lightly.

“It’s about treating other people well to get the best out of them. She takes her role very seriously and just wants to do the best job she can,” the insider explained.

Meanwhile, Meghan has been heavily criticized for disregarding royal traditions. There have also been reports alleging she is not popular among royal staff members.

In November, the Daily Mail published an article revealed Meghan emails her staff at 5 a.m. “with ideas and requests.”

At the time, the article noted that while royal aides were aware of Meghan’s desire to shape her role as the Duchess of Sussex, her “‘up and at ’em’ West Coast energy” made some palace staff members uncomfortable.

However, those close to Kate claimed she is a great boss, who values her team, and their opinions.

“She wants everybody’s voice to be heard. That means she takes the time to listen to ideas from the most junior members in her team,” insiders told YOU Magazine.

“Afterwards, they’ll say ‘Wow, she knows my name. ‘She asked me what I thought.’ That’s just how she is. She is also very loyal to her staff. If you make a mistake, she’ll realize you’re human, and she’ll back you regardless.”

Although Meghan was heavily criticized in the past year, compared to Kate, the Duchess of Sussex appears to be winning some of the public’s admiration.

The former actress is currently on a royal tour in Africa with Prince Harry and their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The family of three is expected to wrap up their visit on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
