Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William of Wales, attended the BAFTA event on Saturday night where they mingled with Tom Hanks, Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman, and Jennifer Garner. The Royal couple attended BAFTA's, 'Brit's to Watch' red carpet event where the stylish couple rubbed shoulders with some of Hollywood's finest.

Other stars who attended the event included Blake Lively, Barbra Streisand, Rita Wilson, Ed Westwick, Juno Temple and Paul Rudd.

At 8 p.m. on Saturday night, William and Kate arrived via a black Range Rover, where they walked the red carpet into the foyer of the theatre. Kate was dressed to impress in a glamorous, but not over the top, McQueen gown designed by Sarah Burton, who was responsible for Kate's wedding dress.

Piers Morgan, who also attended the star studded event (America's Got Talent, Britain's Got more Talent) said of the Royal couple, In terms of pure star quality, William and Kate are the biggest stars in the world, he said.

The impact they've had on Hollywood, which houses the biggest stars in the world, shows you that they are.

Kate Betts, contributor editor for Time magazine and the author for Everyday Icon: Michelle Obama and the Power of Style said of Kate's style, I love the ease of her style. I love the fact that she's wearing dresses, which actually when you think about it is a very American thing because if you look back at other royals, they wore suits.

Avril Grama, the executive fashion and beauty editor for Harper's Bazaar, and a fellow Brit, called Kate's style, spot on and believed that Kate practiced fashion caution, which made sense considering her new role.

While the duchess may have won 'best dressed' at the BAFTA gala, Jennifer Lopez has had some criticism over the dress she chose to wear. Lopez even received a spot on the Washington Post's 'five worst dressed' celebrities of the night. Lopez, donning a forest green, skin-tight Emilio Pucci dress, not only showed off her trademark curves, but she revealed a bit too much skin, some critics think.

Other stars on the worst dressed list were Elizabeth Banks, Lively, and Garner, who all three wore off the shoulder dresses.

It's safe to say that Kate and William had a powerful effect on Hollywood and managed to impress even some of Hollywood's most notable celebrities.
